backing track is a radio piece based on a performance presented at the conference "how does it feel to be a problem?", which took place in the fridericianum in kassel on 29th of april 2017.

a recording made in görlitz in 1917 is heard as an unfinished piece and thus allows for the creation of several additional tracks between the poles of economy, music and language.
a "historically informed performance" investigating the etymology of the featured musical instrument, tracing it's heritage and linking it to a mirror for princes from the 17th century and a financial instrument from the present day.
