in squaring the process of a round can becoming square is witnessed from four perspectives simultaneously. four cameras are set up in 360° around the can. the can is filled with boiling water and heated up for approx. a minute. then the water is poured out and the lid is closed again. over the next minutes the difference in temperature (cold outside, hot inside) causes the can to contract - it changes it‘s shape and produces percussive sounds.
